uniquely led by three founding partners with diverse expert scopes in fashion,

hospitality and the residential luxury market, transition state is an extension of

their collaborative "no rule" approach to design. transition state is a full-service

design studio and boutique line offering consultation, space planning, custom

furniture and textile design. the label is inspired by the location, culture,

and overarching story of people we get to meet doing what we love.

Our founders

 

Lauren Schneider

Lauren followed her passion and pursued a BA in Art History from the
University of California Santa Barbara, followed by a study of Interior
Design at the University of California Los Angeles. Her career began at
renowned luxury residential designer Philip Nimmo and later expanded
into the hospitality side of the industry with leading boutique firm
Avenue  ID. As lead designer and project manager for scopes
that included hotels and restaurants alike, Lauren excelled at crafting 
distinct and authentic spaces. Her past clients have included MGM
Resorts, Gravitas Development Group, Woodside Hotels, and SBE.
Lauren delivers an artful point of view and unique perspective to clients. 

 

 

Kelli Riley

a graduate of both the university of california at los angeles,
and the fashion institute of design and merchandising,
kelli cut her teeth as vice president of design and
merchandising at international luxury label, leisure society,
and most recently as co-founder and vice president of
haus of grey, a premiere sportswear brand sold in
top tier country clubs and resorts. seasoned in
the elite market of creating luxury apparel and accessories,
she now blends her knowledge of expert craftsmanship
with custom textile design to develop capsule collections
for our client’s that are both aspirational and approachable.

Jenna Rochon

After double majoring in advertising and psychology at the
 University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, Jenna went on
to study design at the University of California Los Angeles.
Upon graduation, Jenna landed a position at nationally
recognized and leading hospitality firm Avenue ID. She
immediately excelled in the boutique hotel and casino
development market, designing and project managing
renovations and new build construction for unique guest
rooms, suites, and public spaces. Her client roster includes
Boyd Gaming, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, MGM and SBE.
She is drawn to the art of creating unique experiences and
delivering those unexpected moments that differentiate a design.
